Our Story

How big is that ice cream truck? ....Oh it's about yay big.
The owner is only 12?!....Yeah... he is only about yay high.
You have ice cream? YAY ice cream!

What started as an idea to hire an ice cream truck in June 2023 as a fun way to end a sports camp I was helping to organize turned into my 11-year-old son taking over Yay Big Yay High Yay Ice Cream from another young entrepreneur. The Fitzpatrick’s and their son, Gabriel, started the idea, during quarantine in 2020, of having a teeny tiny ice cream truck, driving it around neighborhoods, providing ice cream to birthday parties and school events, and literally putting a smile on anyone’s face as they drive around. Their idea came into action later that year and turned into Yay Big Yay High Ice Cream with two teeny tiny ice cream trucks, Inky and Pinky. So during our conversations on reserving Pinky for our sports camp, we got into talking about the business, and the original owners, the Fitzpatrick’s, were soon moving out of state. I asked the simple question, “What are you doing with your ice cream trucks?” Well, they weren’t quite sure. Were they going to haul them across the country with them? But they also loved the idea that families in Everett and the surrounding areas could still enjoy Inky and Pinky.
One month later, my son, Braden, “adopted” Pinky and Inky and became the proud new owner and operator of Yay Big Yay High Yay Ice Cream! Even at his young age, Braden has always enjoyed running his own business. Whether it was neighborhood lemonade stands, baking and selling cookies, or raising money for his school fundraisers, he has always put 110% into his ideas. Running a small ice cream truck business was right up his alley. I’ve never seen him as excited and as happy as the day of our “adoption” party of Pinky and Inky.
We completed our first summer last year and are ready to embark on our first full spring/summer season! Braden is excited for the season and as the weather heats up our ice cream trucks will be fully stocked with the greatest selection of frozen ice cream treats. We’ve added a few new items to our menu that we are excited to share with you as well. Pinky is our bright pink Honda Acty micro truck and Inky is our Mitsubishi Minica micro box truck.
If you haven’t met them yet, we would love to introduce you this summer!
